Saif Ali Khan house robbery: Actor stabbed trying to protect house help from burglar reveals police sources

Saif Ali Khan was injured during a burglary attempt at his and Kareena Kapoor’s Bandra home on Thursday. He is currently receiving treatment at Lilavati Hospital. New details have emerged regarding this shocking incident, where Saif sustained knife injuries on his neck, near the spine, and at four other locations after an intruder broke into their home around 2:30 am.

Saif Ali Khan tried to protect domestic help leading to being injured

Sources have informed HT that Saif was trying to protect his domestic help from the intruder when he was attacked. News agency ANI reported that an unknown person entered Saif Ali Khan’s residence and argued with his maid late last night. A source from the Mumbai Police explained, “When the actor tried to intervene and pacify the man, he attacked Saif Ali Khan and injured him. Police are investigating the matter.”

Reports indicate that Saif was disturbed by the commotion and attempted to intervene. In the ensuing confrontation, the intruder attacked both Saif and his maid with a knife. Saif attempted to shield his help and defend himself before the attacker fled the scene. Authorities are still determining whether the actor was stabbed deliberately or if the injuries occurred during the struggle.

The house help, Mrs Ariyama Phillips alias Lima, raised an alarm, following which actor Saif Ali Khan intervened. The unknown person attacked Saif Ali Khan with a sharp object, injuring him. The domestic help was also injured in the incident, the statement added. At the time of the assault, Kareena and their two sons, Taimur and Jeh, were also at home. Saif’s older son from his first marriage, Ibrahim Ali Khan, arrived shortly after and transported him to Lilavati Hospital.

Saif’s team released an official statement regarding the incident, “There was an attempted burglary at Mr. Saif Ali Khan’s residence. He is currently in hospital undergoing surgery. We request the media and fans to be patient. It is a police matter. We will keep you updated on the situation.”

Saif sustains 6 injuries & 10 stitches

At the hospital, Saif is being treated for six injuries, two of which are deeper. Dr. Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, noted, “One of the injuries is closer to his spine.” The doctor also mentioned an injury on the neck that is under evaluation. Saif is being operated on by Neurosurgeon Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Leena Jain, and anaesthetist Nisha Gandhi. The surgery commenced at 5:30 am.

A doctor at Lilavati Hospital, who requested anonymity, revealed that they found a piece of the knife in Saif’s body. And they are still assessing the damage. However, the fact that he can move his limbs indicates that his spine is intact.

Jr NTR condemns Saif’s attacks

Many of Saif Ali Khan’s colleagues, including Jr NTR, have condemned the attack and expressed their concern for his safety. Additionally, political leaders have raised questions about the law and order situation in Mumbai, highlighting the audacity of the attack.
